Match Report / Player Ratings : Manchester United bag 9th straight win with EFL Cup 1st leg victory over Hull City

The Red Devils recorded yet another win, with a 2-nil over the Tigers securing a 9th straight victory in all competitions for them thus far, and it’s enough inspiration ahead of Sunday’s cracker against Liverpool.

A goalless first half frustrated the hosts, with Rooney coming closest to finding the opener after his effort went just inches wide. But the Red Devils weren’t to be denied a win, ah Mata opened the scoring following a fine header of an assist from Mkhitaryan 11 minutes after restart.

Hull pushed for an equalizer, and the game’s result didn’t seem all guaranteed until the 87th minute. A lovely cross from Darmian found Fellaini who buried a looping header into the net.
