The media in England have dropped a bombshell over the future of Manchester United outcast Alexis Sanchez, stating ex-Barcelona star could return to La Liga next winter.
Recently omitted from Jose Mourinho’s squad for the Champions League clash with Young Boys, the pacey winger has registered just five Premier League starts for the Red Devils this season.
Currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, the Chile international has found himself on the fringes of Man Utd’s squad for the majority of the season.
Given his arguments with Mourinho and the frustratingly low playing time, could see Sanchez departing Old Trafford barely a year following his sensational arrival from Arsenal back in January.
However, Sanchez’s £500,000-a-week wage make him ‘unreachable’ for most Europe clubs, especially as the player has no intention of reducing his salary.
One of the teams who can afford to land the former Gunners man are Ream Madrid, but Sanchez’s performance in 2018 would have hardly convinced Florentino Perez to meet his stratospheric demands.
But, according to the Express Sport, Los Blancos may still decide to bet huge on the 29-year-old forward next January “if they get desperate.”
With Marco Asensio and Gareth Bale both struggling to find the right balance this campaign, Santiago Solari needs a player who can make a difference in the final third.
Although the reigning European champions wanted to capture Eden Hazard’s signature in the upcoming transfer session, Chelsea’s demands and the Belgian’s relationship with Maurizio Sarri have forced them to look for new targets.
