Barcelona Sporting Director Eric Abidal has reportedly scheduled a meeting with the medical staff to determine the cause of Ousmane Dembele’s injury
The 22-year-old winger limped off during Barcelona’s 3-1 home triumph over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday and was later diagnosed with a thigh injury.
According to BBC, the youngster will have to spend ten weeks on the sidelines, and his continuous injury problems have started to bother the Catalans chiefs.
Two years ago, the reigning La Liga champions splashed out around £120m to take him away from Dortmund, but Dembele has so far done nothing to repay the trust and money.
Barcelona bosses would like to know whether the Frenchman’s latest injury came as a consequence of his lifestyle that has been tormenting Dembele ever since he arrived at the Camp Nou.
Already penalized for his unprofessional behavior on multiple occasions in the past, the France international’s work ethics have been questioned recently by his former Barca teammate Kevin-Prince Boateng.
Although the nature of Dembele’s injury remains unclear, he could face additional problems should the medical checks show it was caused by an unhealthy lifestyle.
