Cristiano Ronaldo has faced harsh criticism from the Juventus fans following a shock home draw with Sassuolo on Sunday afternoon
The reigning holders were held to a 2-2 draw to an out-of-sorts Sassuolo side, allowing Inter Milan to go top of the Serie A table with a 2-1 home triumph over SPAL a few hours later.
Although Leonardo Bonnuci broke the deadlock in the 20th minute to put the home team in front, Jeremie Boga leveled the score only three minutes later with a beautiful chipped goal.

Francesco Caputo took advantage of Matthijs de Ligt’s mistake to complete the turnaround two minutes into the second half, but Cristiano Ronaldo rescued a point for Juventus from a spot-kick in the 68th minute.
However, despite the goal, the Portuguese superstar has been subjected to criticism from the local fans following another underwhelming performance.
The Daily Star collected some of the tweets directed towards the 34-year-old, who seems to be enduring the most challenging period of his career.

“Honestly, Cristiano Ronaldo is DREADFUL these days,” wrote one. “He’s slow, can’t dribble past anyone, his touch is off so many times, too selfish sometimes cause he doesn’t seem to accept that he can’t dribble past anyone and his acceleration isn’t what it used to be.”
“Cristiano Ronaldo is averaging a goal from open play every 5 hours and 20 minutes this season,” another said. “No longer elite.”
“Ronaldo is probably our worst player currently in the team,” added a third. “Sarri should bench Ronaldo in the upcoming games and bring him on as a sub. We Juve fans are tired of seeing Ronaldo drop disaster class every week.”
