Achraf Hakimi’s agent broke the silence about the Inter Milan star’s future amid speculations about a potential summer move to the Premier League.
While enjoying his rise to stardom during a sumptuous two-year loan at Borussia Dortmund, Hakimi has earned high acclaims from several of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The 22-year-old carries a reputation for being one of the finest wing-backs in Europe’s top-five divisions and has only backed his stature in Lombardy.
Since joining Inter in a blockbuster €40million deal from Real Madrid last summer, the Morocco international has nailed down the starting berth at the Giuseppe Meazza as his own.
Though he can still improve defensively, Hakimi does offer a great deal of threat going forward, which was the case during his time at the Signal Iduna Park.
Having racked up 26 Serie A appearances this season, he has notched up six goals and chipped in with five assists, which makes him the most prolific defender in Italy.
Indeed, the African whizz-kid is instrumental to Antonio Conte’s tactical set-up after developing a genuine on-field understanding with the likes of Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku.
Hakimi’s skills are in high demand across the continent, but Inter have no intention of parting ways with their first-team stalwart.
After tying the player down to a five-year contract, the Nerazzurri are in firm control of his fate amid growing interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.
Speaking on Hakimi’s behalf, Alejandro Camano maintains his client relishes his life in Serie A and slams the door shut for the prospect of moving to the Premier League in the summer.
“Hakimi is happy at Inter with Conte, who’s an excellent coach,” the player’s entourage Camano said, as quoted by Sempreinter.
“Conte’s style of play suits Achraf, and I think he will end up improving a lot because of this experience with the Nerazzurri.”
The Premier League rivals are on the lookout for reinforcements to bridge the gap on Manchester sides ahead of the new season.
As things stand now, Mikel Arteta and Thomas Tuchel will both have to redirect their attention somewhere else.
