Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has talked to Sky Sports about Cristiano Ronaldo’s physical condition in the build-up to the Champions League clash with Ajax
The Bianconeri travel to Amsterdam to take on the Lancers for the first leg of their quarter-finals tie after dumping Atletico Madrid out of the competition.
Although some recent reports have indicated their main star Cristiano Ronaldo won’t recover from injury on time, the Portuguese hotshot will start from the first minute, according to Allegri.
“Cristiano has trained well with the team. He will start tomorrow night,” the Italian tactician explained during the press conference.
Ronaldo’s last appearance for the Old Lady was the one against Los Colchoneros in the Champions League last-16 when he scored a hat-trick to leave Diego Simeone’s crew empty-handed.
The 34-year-old has sustained a thigh injury during the international challenge between Portugal and Serbia and had to remain on the sidelines ever since.
As a consequence, former Real Madrid talisman has skipped Juventus’ triumphs over Genoa, Empoli, Cagliari, and AC Milan in Serie A.
