Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti has warned Manchester United that Kalidou Koulibaly won’t leave the Italian outfit this summer to join the Premier League
The Red Devils hold a long-standing interest in the tall defender, whom they’ve already tried to recruit during Jose Mourinho’s tenure.
Well aware of his team’s defensive difficulties, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is frantically looking for reinforcements, with Koulibaly emerging as one of his top targets.
Still, Carlo Ancelotti is confident Gli Azzurri will keep hold of their best rearguard in spite of United’s strong pressure.
“Koulibaly will remain in Naples in the next season,” the former Bayern Munich manager said.
Having made a name for himself during his five-year spell at the Stadio San Paolo, Koulibaly is widely regarded as one of the best centre-backs in Europe at the moment.
However, the Serie A runners-up are not willing to renounce their defensive mainstay, especially given that the Senegalese’s contract is due to expire in 2023.
What’s more, the 27-year-old has settled in Serie A after arriving from Genk in 2014 and seems to have no intention of moving abroad.
