Arsenal are reportedly eyeing up a summer move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey, according to the recent reports in England
The Gunners will have a busy summer in all likelihood, as they are going to face a battle to keep hold of their headline performers, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
In addition to the outgoings, Mikel Arteta is also keen on adding new players to his squad, with the name of Thomas Partey emerging as one of the Spaniard’s top priorities.
As per the Metro, the Londoners are ready to trigger the 26-year-old’s €50million release clause to bring him to the Emirates at the end of the season.

The same source also says that the struggling Premier League giants have already established contacts with the player’s agent only to be informed of Partey’s intention to continue with Atletico.
Indeed, the Ghana international has expressed his desire to remain at Wanda Metropolitano, and the talks about his contract extension have started recently.
Arteta faces an uphill task of bringing Arsenal back to the top European football, as his side seems likely to miss out on the UEFA Champions League promotion for the fourth year in a row.
What’s more, the Gunners failed to progress to the Europa League round of 16 after losing 2-1 to Olympiacos at home on Thursday night, adding more misery to an utterly disappointing season for the club’s fans.
