Arsenal to beat stiff competition for Chelsea winger Willian for one reason

Arsenal have reportedly joined a host of Europe’s royalty in the race for the outgoing Chelsea forward Willian, reports in France and England suggest

Willian’s contract at Stamford Bridge is due to expire at the end of the season, and the Blues have so far failed in their attempts to lure him into extending his deal.

The 31-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013, seems reluctant to prolong his stay at the club and has already turned down several approaches to extend his contract.

Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus are all long-term admirers of the Brazilian forward, but the Gunners have now entered the race, with Mikel Arteta looking to bolster his squad next summer.

Willian has recently admitted that even if he doesn’t extend with Chelsea, he would like to remain in London as his family enjoys life in England’s capital.

Arsenal will look to benefit from the player’s desire to stay in the Premier League to beat stiff competition from the abovementioned Europe’s big guns, as reported by the Football.London.

Willian has been one of the most consistent Chelsea performers under Franck Lampard this season, although his modest record of five goals and five assists in 28 Premier League appearances may suggest otherwise.
