Arsenal are reportedly lining up an audacious swap move involving the star forward Alexandre Lacazette and the Atletico Madrid winger Thomas Lemar
Arsenal will have to be careful in the upcoming transfer window, considering their spending power will be considerably lower than expected due to the coronavirus pandemic and the fact they are likely to miss out on Champions League football again.
Still, the Gunners are looking to reinforce their squad ahead of the new season to return to the Premier League elite and challenge for a top-four finish in 2020/21.
Now, according to the Express Sport, the London outfit are assessing the possibility of swapping Alexandre Lacazette for the highly-rated Atletico Madrid forward Thomas Lemar.
It’s a near-certainty that Mikel Arteta will have to renounce one of Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but everyone at the club is eager to keep hold of their captain.
As a result, Arsenal will look to offload the French striker and potentially use him as a part of an exchange that would bring in a much-needed wide forward.

Brought in from AS Monaco for £53million in 2018, Lemar has struggled to replicate his Ligue 1 performances at the Wanda Metropolitano and had picked up just nine La Liga starts before the pandemic halted proceedings.
Since he is not a permanent fixture in Diego Simeone’s starting XI, the 24-year-old Frenchman could be allowed to depart Madrid, especially given that they may finally end up signing Lacazette.
Indeed, Los Colchoneros hold a long-standing interest in the former Lyon man, and a possibility of getting him as part of the deal to set Lemar free may be enough of an enticement for them to sanction the transfer.
