Barcelona monitor Liverpool outcast Alberto Moreno

La Liga holders Barcelona are considering a shock January move for Liverpool outcast Alberto Moreno, according to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo. With Jordi Alba residing as the only reliable option on the left flank, the Blaugrana would like to hire a suitable alternative. The Catalans are engaged in battles on multiple fronts, and Ernesto Valverde needs depth in his roster to keep his team competitive. Meanwhile, Moreno, who arrived at Anfield from Sevilla back in 2014 for a fee of £12 million, has been on the fringes of the Reds’ side since Andrew Robertson’s burst last season.Ever since Jurgen Klopp took charge of the team, the 26-year-old Spaniard has struggled to find space in the starting eleven. Therefore, a potential January exit seems to be the most reasonable solution.Lyon’s Ferland Mendy, Paris Saint-Germain’s Juan Bernat, and Valencia’s Jose Gaya are also believed to be on Barca’s shortlist, but Moreno emerges as the cheapest option, as his contract with the Merseysiders is going to run down at the end of the season.
