Barcelona have reportedly put Antoine Griezmann up for sale following an underwhelming maiden season at the club, multiple reports confirm
The reigning La Liga champions triggered Griezmann’s €120m release clause to sign him from Atletico Madrid last summer, hoping he will come as an upgrade on Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho, who both flopped after big-money arrivals.
Although he occasionally showed flashes of his brilliance, the 29-year-old Frenchman has been only a shadow of a player he once was during his time in the Spanish capital.
The World Cup winner has added 14 goals and four assists to his name this season, but it’s been deemed insufficient by the Catalans’ high standards.

The Blaugrana’s decision to sanction Griezmann’s departure in the summer has alerted several of Europe’s major clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal.
While the Gunners’ interest should be taken with a grain of salt, the Red Devils are known admirers of the former Real Sociedad forward and could decide to make a fresh approach at the end of the season.
However, Barcelona’s primary intention is to use their misfit as a makeweight in the deal to bring Neymar back from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Catalan heavyweights are determined to secure the Brazilian’s return to La Liga in the summer and are ready to do everything in their power to get the deal through.
Reports across Europe have recently suggested that the 28-year-old’s value decreased from €220m to €160m, which now makes him affordable for Barcelona.
Considering that Barca value Griezmann at €100m, it would require them to add €60m to their offer, which is a sum they can easily raise by offloading Philippe Coutinho to either Manchester United or Liverpool.
