Het Laatste Nieuws pundit Kristof Terreur has recently claimed Chelsea forward Eden Hazard is not willing to renew his contract at Stamford Bridge, hoping to move to Real Madrid next summer.
Los Blancos have been heavily linked with the Belgium international over the past few months, but they are yet to make any concrete steps towards the completion of the deal.
However, La Liga giants could step up their interest in the 28-year-old forward considering they are dealing with immense problems in the final third since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Meanwhile, the Blues have tried to extend Hazard’s contract on two occasions, but the player has refused to commit his future to the club.
Talking to Sky Sports, Terreur has explained Hazard prefers to wait for the summer and see if Real Madrid’s interest turns to be real.
“He has rejected two contract offers so far and says that he doesn’t want to sign right now. That means he is waiting for something and that something means just one thing, Real Madrid.”
“Real Madrid are still interested as far as I know, but they are still yet to make their move. They don’t have a personal agreement with him at this point, they don’t have an agreement with Chelsea and they haven’t even made the phone call like they did last summer.”
“When they called last summer, Marina Granovskaia said that he wasn’t for sale and Real respected that. But they might come back in again as they need to strengthen their squad after this season and it is easier to get players with just over a year left on a contract.”
The former Lille star has been brilliant in the Premier League this season, managing ten goals and ten assists in 21 appearances.
