Borussia Dortmund see Ansu Fati as Jadon Sancho replacement

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly identified the Barcelona whizz-kid Ansu Fati as Jadon Sancho’s successor at the Signal Iduna Park, multiple reports say

Sancho seems destined to leave Dortmund at the end of the season, with Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona, and Real Madrid all looking to secure his signature.

Earlier this year, the BVB sporting director Michael Zorc has admitted the club will hardly manage to fend off the Englishman’s suitors in the summer.

Therefore, the Bundesliga heavyweights have started scouting Europe for the 20-year-old’s replacement, and the name of Ansu Fati has surfaced in the Spanish media, as relayed by the Daily Mail.

The 17-year-old wonderkid made his senior debut for the Blaugrana in August and has gone one to rack up 24 appearances in all competitions, contributing five goals and an assist.

Widely regarded as the next big thing in football, Fati has a bright future ahead of him, as the Catalans count on the youngster to shape the new era at Camp Nou.

The reigning La Liga holders are unlikely to give up on the prodigious winger and will only be looking to offload him if the buy-back clause is included.

Since Barcelona hold an interest in Sancho, they may use Fati to lure Dortmund into selling their prized asset, but it’s unclear whether they are ready to sacrifice the La Masia product.

Meanwhile, Dortmund’s sophisticated taste for the prosperous talents is a well-known fact, as they already proved their skill in finding some of the hottest young properties in Europe.

Erling Haaland, Sancho, Achraf Hakimi, Manuel Akanji, and Giovanni Reyna are some of the highly-rated teenagers Dortmund have signed over the past couple of years.

So, it is not strange that they now have their sights set on Fati, who has the potential one of the world’s best players if he finds himself in a suitable environment.
