Borussia Dortmund snapped up Erling Haaland

Borussia Dortmund have won the race for the RB Salzburg teenage star Erling Braut Haaland

The Bundesliga giants confirmed Haaland’s signing for an undisclosed fee on Friday via their official Twitter account, announcing the highly-rated youngster has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal.

Even though he played for the Norwegian outfit Molde last season, it has taken Haaland less than six months to become one of the most exciting young prospects in football, catching the eye of a host of European royalties, including Juventus and Manchester United.

In addition to the abovementioned giants, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and Atletico Madrid had also followed Haaland before Friday’s news crashed their dreams.

The 19-year-old’s rise to prominence has seen him rack up 28 goals in 22 appearances for Salzburg, with seven of those goals coming in the UEFA Champions League.

Widely regarded as one of the most prolific young strikers in Europe, Haaland was expected to move to the Premier League and reunite with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United.

However, the Norwegian prodigy has ended up signing for Borussia Dortmund, who have not been in the picture until a few days ago.

His arrival will hand Lucien Favre a huge boost in his efforts to fight RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title, especially as Paco Alcacer had massive problems with injuries during the first half of the season.
