BREAKING: Liverpool signed Diogo Jota for £41m

Liverpool have reportedly secured the signature of Diogo Jota after reaching an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers

After having a quiet summer, newly-crowned Premier League champions have finally got their transfer business underway.

As per BBC Sport, Liverpool and Wolverhampton have agreed on a £41million plus add-ons deal for Diogo Jota to join the Anfield outfit.

The Portuguese winger will, therefore, follow in the footsteps of Thiago Alcantara, who swapped Bayern Munich for the Reds only yesterday.

The 29-year-old playmaker has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool throughout the summer after refusing to commit to fresh terms in Bavaria.

Jurgen Klopp wasted no time since bringing in the Spaniard, with highly-rated forward Diogo Jota now on the verge of joining the Merseyside giants.

After a torrid time at Atletico Madrid, the 23-year-old switched to Molineux in the summer of 2018 for a fee of €14million.

Jota has been nothing short of outstanding at Wolves during his two-year stint at the club, racking up 44 goals and 19 assists in 131 outings.

His jaw-dropping performances for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have earned him a regular starting berth at the Portugal national team.

Now, the lightning-quick winger will have to fight for his place in Klopp’s starting eleven with the likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, and Takumi Minamino.

The German manager has long been preferring the attacking trio featuring Mane, Salah, and Roberto Firmino.

However, eager to add quality and depth to his attacking line, the famous manager now snapped up the signature of one of the best wingers in the Premier League last season.
