Chelsea have reportedly overcome Manchester United in the race for Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell
The 22-year-old has come through the youth system at the King Power Stadium and went on to establish himself as one of the best left-backs in the Premier League.
Chilwell’s eye-catching displays for Leicester have not gone unnoticed, with Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea listed among the clubs tracking the player.
After snapping up Joao Cancelo from Juventus in the summer, the Citizens have pulled out of the race, leaving the crosstown rivals to fight the Blues for the defender’s signature.
Although the Red Devils seemed to be in the driver’s seat, the London giants have leapfrogged them recently, according to Daily Mail.
Pensioners have already appealed against a two-window transfer ban and are ready to make a move in the January transfer market if they are cleared to sign new players by then.
But, Chilwell’s contract that runs out in 2024 puts the Foxes in a strong bargaining position, which means the player won’t come cheap.
