Chelsea plot summer move for AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma

Chelsea have reportedly established contacts with Mino Raiola over a summer move for the highly-rated AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma

Franck Lampard’s list of summer priorities features a new shot-stopper close to the top amid growing concerns over Kepa Arrizabalaga’s future at Stamford Bridge.

The most expensive goalkeeper in history has failed to live up to £71.6million Chelsea spent to lure him away from Athletic Bilbao in 2018 and has recently been dropped to the bench after a series of underwhelming performances.

Although Lampard recently refused to comment on Arrizabalaga’s status at the club, the news has now emerged that the Blues have contacted the super-agent Mino Raiola over a potential signing of Gianluigi Donnarumma.

According to the Daily Express, the Londoners are ready to challenge Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain for the 21-year-old’s signature, with Milan reportedly considering a sale.

The Rossoneri are facing another year without Champions League football and could be forced to sell some of their star players to balance the books.

Donnarumma is certainly one of Milan’s most prized assets, and his departure could see the struggling Serie A giants raise much-needed funds to finance the summer transfer campaign.
