Chelsea have reached a verbal agreement with Ajax for the left-footed forward Hakim Ziyech, multiple reports in the Netherlands and England confirm
Although they’ve seen their transfer ban lifted ahead of the winter transfer session, the Blues have opted to sit out the entire January transfer window.
But, the Stamford Bridge outfit will return to spend big at the end of the season and have already snapped up their first summer signing.
Indeed, as reported by the Bleacher Report, the Pensioners have struck an ‘oral agreement’ with Ajax for Ziyech on the basis of €45m, and the Moroccan is expected to link up with his new club in the summer.

The 26-year-old has been one of the Lancers’ standout performers over the past few seasons and has continued to perform at the highest level this campaign, too.
In fact, the Morocco international has racked up eight goals and 18 assists in 24 appearances for Ajax in the 2019/20 season.
The reigning Eredivisie champions have once again showcased their skills of cashing in on the players at the peak of their market values and will make a substantial profit on Ziyech, considering they brought him for €11 million from Twente in 2016.
Chelsea reportedly tried to capture the former Heerenveen youth academy product last month, after Ziyech impressed Franck Lampard in the Champions League.
Although Lampard has missed out on signing a top-class playmaker in January, with Ajax refusing to sell their star attacking midfielder in the middle of the season, he will end up luring him to the Premier League after all.
