Jorginho could fall victim to Chelsea’s pursuit of the West Ham United star Declan Rice, with Frank Lampard ready to listen to offers for the Italian metronome
Jorginho arrived at Stamford Bridge from Napoli in 2018 as Chelsea indulged the former boss Maurizio Sarri to bring the deep-lying playmaker to Stamford Bridge.
Despite Sarri leaving the club only a year after, the 28-year-old midfielder has remained an essential part of the Blues’ tactical set-up throughout 2019/20.
Indeed, Jorginho has racked up 27 Premier League starts under Lampard this term, although he’s ended up as a bit-part player in the Chelsea squad post restart.
Now, as reported by the Express Sport, Lampard is willing to listen to offers for the Brazil native to raise funds for a £65million move for the West Ham talisman Declan Rice.
After seeing his side concede more goals than any other top-10 Premier League clubs this season, the English manager is keen to provide additional cover to his backline.
Widely-regarded as the hottest English young property, Rice is as good in possession of the ball as he is at winning it back, a true guard in front of the back four.
The 21-year-old defensive midfielder has been nothing short of outstanding since making a senior breakthrough in 2017, going on to record 99 Premier League appearances for the London outfit.
With Manchester United also interest in capturing Rice’s signature, Chelsea will probably have to fork out more than £65million they initially planned to offer.
Additionally, the youngster’s contract at the club is due to expire in 2024, which puts West Ham in a strong bargaining position ahead of the summer market.

Juventus could launch an assault on Jorginho in the coming months, as Sarri relishes the prospect of reuniting with his former protégé.
Despite already securing the services of Barcelona’s Arthur Melo, the Italian manager is eager to revamp his midfield options ahead of the new season.
Aaron Ramsey’s future in Turin hangs in the balance less than a year upon his arrival from Arsenal, and Jorginho could fill in for the Welshman should he departs the Allianz Stadium this summer.
