Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has issued a warning to Atletico Madrid in the build-up to their Champions League meeting in Turin
The reigning Serie A holders have suffered a 2-0 defeat at the Wanda Metropolitano in the first leg but have a chance to make it up to the home fans in the return leg.
Although it seems to be a daunting prospect for the Bianconeri to overturn a 2-goal deficit against a team such as Atletico, Cristiano believes Juve have the capacity to advance to the quarter-finals.
When asked about the upcoming encounter with Los Colchoneros, the 34-year-old said: “Atletico Madrid? Well, I think that we have a good team and we are confident in our abilities.”
“We will have to have a special night here in Turin. We have to think positive ahead of this game and believe in our chances.
“It surely is possible, but we will need the help of our fans. Everyone will have to give it their all this coming week.
“Comeback? Yes, get ready for a comeback.”
The Portuguese forward knows what it takes to beat Los Rojiblancos, considering he confronted Atletico in seven Champions League clashes, securing four triumphs in the process.
Also, the former Real Madrid man has scored 22 goals against Atletico during his time at Los Blancos.
La Liga giants have established themselves as one of the best defensive teams in Europe over the past few years, and it is hard to expect Diego Simeone’s warriors can drop such a big advantage.
However, Manchester United and Ajax have proved anything can happen in football, so it is still early to throw away a possibility of Juventus going past the Spanish side.
