Cristiano Ronaldo regrets leaving Real Madrid for Juventus

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly informed his former Real Madrid colleagues that he regrets swapping the Bernabeu for Juventus

The 34-year-old superstar joined the Bianconeri in summer 2018 for €100million, helping the Turin giants clinch the Serie A title in his first season in Italy.

Even though he bagged 28 goals in all competitions last term, Ronaldo’s career has been in steady decline ever since he left the Spanish capital.

After losing out the Ballon d’Or race to his ex-teammate Luka Modric in 2018, the Portuguese forward had to witness his arch-nemesis, Lionel Messi, claim the flattering award.

Indeed, Cristiano’s transfer to the Allianz Stadium has compromised his chances of keeping the pace with the Barcelona star, who has now won the tie-breaking sixth Ballon d’Or, leaving Ronaldo behind on five.

As reported by the Eurosport, the Portugal captain has reached out to his former Real Madrid teammates to express his regret for leaving Spain for Italy.

Ronaldo is going through a challenging period at Juventus, having netted just eight goals in all competitions this term.

His relationship with the manager Maurizio Sarri is not great either, and a potential breakup next summer is on the cards.
