David Beckham contacted Leo Messi over potential MLS move

David Beckham has reportedly approached the Barcelona stalwart Lionel Messi hopeful that he can lure him to his Inter Miami next summer

Becks’ franchise will join the Major League Soccer in summer 2020 just at the time when the 32-year-old can depart Camp Nou without a compensation fee.

The Argentinean’s contract that runs out in 2021 reportedly allows him to leave the Blaugrana for free at the end of the season should he opt to move outside Europe.

Former Real Madrid legend has been sniffing around lately, looking to bring Messi over to the United States as he searches for top-class players to bolster his squad.

Although Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has confirmed the existence of the clause, he has rejected the prospect of losing his headline performer next summer.

“Messi signed until 2021. It was agreed that at the end of the penultimate season he is at liberty to leave for free,” he said.

“He has earned that freedom to decide his future, but he is very Cule, and I am calm. Xavi, Iniesta, and Puyol had the same clause.

“We couldn’t give Messi a different clause, but I repeat, I am in no doubt he will stay for many years.”

But, according to The Sun, Messi, who has firm control over his future, finds the idea of joining Beckham’s side “interesting,” so a sensational switch to MLS is yet to be ruled out.
