Inter Milan are preparing for life after Mauro Icardi, with the Nerazzurri placing AS Roma’s Edin Dzeko on top of their summer shopping list
Former Inter captain seems to be on his way out from the club, and Luciano Spalletti intends to replace him with one of the most prolific goalscorers in Serie A in the past four years.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international has scored 60 goals in the Italian top-tier competition since landing at the Stadio Olimpico, claiming the Capocannoniere award in 2016-17.
However, this season, Dzeko has been enduring a difficult period, bagging ‘just’ 12 goals in 30 top-flight appearances for the Giallorossi.
Disappointed with a lack of support in the final third, former Manchester City man has had an outburst during Roma’s Serie A clash with SPAL.
With the frustration at La Lupa boiling over, Dzeko may be poised to follow in the footsteps of Radja Nainggolan, who swapped Rome for Milano back in the summer.
The only problem here could be his years, given the striker is already 33 and is still uncertain for how long he can keep playing at this level.
