Ajax boss Erik ten Hag has dismissed rumors linking him with Chelsea and Barcelona, pointing out that he sees his future in Amsterdam
The Dutch manager has overseen an outstanding success with Lancers in his second season in charge, leading his team to their 34th Eredivisie title.
However, Ajax’s impressive displays in the Champions League that have seen them reach the semi-finals have directed attention to Ten Hag.
Additionally, the 49-year-old has given an immeasurable contribution to Frenkie de Jong’s and Matthijs de Ligt’s development, helping them become one of the most respectful young players in Europe.
Everything he has accomplished this season has caught the eye of several European heavyweights, including Chelsea and Barcelona.
Still, although he was flattered by interest from Premier League and La Liga giants, Erik ten Hag has admitted he wants to continue with Ajax.
“It’s an honor to be linked with big clubs like Barcelona, Bayern, and Chelsea but I have a contract with Ajax, and I am happy here.
“There are no problems for me. I am happy and I’m planning my future here, I am not thinking about leaving.”
Even though Maurizio Sarri has enjoyed a fairly decent season, helping the Blues secure the Premier League top-four finish and also break into the Europa League final, his future at Stamford Bridge still hangs in the balance.
Meanwhile, a disastrous Champions League elimination to Liverpool may cost Ernesto Valverde his job although he has wrapped up back-to-back La Liga titles with the Blaugrana.
