Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has urged his side to improve their away form ahead of their trip to Granada on Saturday
The Catalans have won two of four league fixtures this term, both of which have come at home and ended with the identical 5-2 scoreline in their favor.
However, uncomfortable when away from the Camp Nou, the Blaugrana have struggled to pick up a triumph in both of their La Liga trips this season.
After a narrow 1-0 loss to Athletic Bilbao in the league curtain-raiser, the reigning La Liga holders were held to a 2-2 draw to the newly-promoted Osasuna.
Barcelona now head to the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes where they came out on top in five of six top-flight visits off the back of a goalless stalemate with Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park in their midweek’s Champions League opener.
Desperate to see his team start collecting points on the road, Valverde has emphasized the importance of away matches in the title run-in.
“Away from home, we’ve not been getting good results up to now.
“It’s costing us because even in the game in Pamplona when we overturned a deficit to lead, we weren’t able to win.
“We hope to change this dynamic, and we hope it happens soon.
“On these grounds are championships decided.”
With Lionel Messi returning to the fold after skipping the opening four rounds of La Liga fixtures due to injury, Valverde’s men won’t have an excuse for potential failure.
