Gennaro Gattuso urges Bakayoko to step up his game

Although AC Milan clinched their second Europa League victory by sweeping Olympiacos aside with a commanding 3-1 triumph, Gennaro Gattuso believes his team can and must improve drastically.Miguel Guerrero has broken the deadlock with the 14th-minute goal to put the visitors in front. However, Patrick Cutrone and Gonzalo Higuain made sure the Rossoneri walk away with all three points. Still, Gattuso thinks his midfielders have to show more composure and determination when having possession of the ball.“I’m happy with the result, but we can play better in midfield. We have a lot wrong in the way we dribble. We have to improve in this if we want to play like that,” he said in the post-match conference.Additionally, the former AC Milan player also criticized the summer signing Tiemoue Bakayoko, who is yet to find his old form.“Bakayoko does need a bit of work right now, but we need everyone. We tried the 4-4-2, but I’m not satisfied at the maximum level of performance without possession.”The 24-year-old arrived at the Stadio San Siro after a disgraceful performance in the Premier League with Chelsea. Although he hoped to revive his career in Serie A, things are not going in the right direction.
