Hakim Ziyech has admitted Franck Lampard played a major role in persuading him to link up with Chelsea
Ziyech will join the Blues at the end of the season after striking a five-year deal on Sunday, with the Blues forking out £37m to take him away from the Eredivisie.
The 26-year-old Morocco international has been one of Ajax’s headline performers over the past few seasons, drawing attention from several of Europe’s big guns, including Lampard’s Chelsea.

Speaking of his decision to choose Stamford Bridge over some other high-profile destinations, the former Heerenveen playmaker has outlined the English manager’s influence on him.
“He gave me a good feeling, and that was also big to do with the decision,” Ziyech said, as reported by the Evening Standard.
“Happy, proud, I am excited, and I cannot wait. It [Chelsea] is a big club in a big competition. I like the style of play – they play really attacking football, and that is something that fits me, and that is one of the biggest reasons I chose, therefore.”
