Tottenham Hotspur performed a stunning late comeback to secure a 3-1 home win over Aston Villa in their 2019-20 Premier League opener
John McGinn met Tyrone Mings’ long ball and put it behind Hugo Lloris in the 9th minute to silence the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and give the traveling side a dream start to the season.
But, from that moment, the Premier League returnees have conceded possession and allowed the hosts to control the game.
Although Mauricio Pochettino’s men created a couple of decent opportunities, they’ve failed to capitalize on their domination, with Harry Kane wasting a clear-cut chance to level the score just before the break.
The 26-year-old has been struggling for goals in August for years after which he usually tormented opponents throughout the season.

Although everyone thought that the England international managed to put his curse to bed after scoring two goals in the eighth month last year, his unbelievable miss in the first half has raised fears again.
Devastated by Kane’s miss, disappointed Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to express their frustration.

However, Tottenham skipper has eventually emerged as one of the architects of the Spurs’ win after notching a late brace to help his side start the new season off on the right foot.
Harry Kane has now scored in each of his last three Premier League appearances in August.
