Zlatan Ibrahimovic reportedly picked up possibly career-ending injury

AC Milan superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic has possibly suffered a career-ending injury, multiple reports in Italy and England suggest

According to Sky Sports Italia, as later relayed by the Daily Star, Ibrahimovic has limped out of this morning’s training after reportedly picking up an Achilles injury.

The original news transmitted by the English outlet says: “Today, Ibra stopped during a training match at the end of the session. After a finish, he puts his weight on the foot and feels something in his calf, the one that he struggled with between January and February.”

“There’s a concrete possibility of a strain but also fear of an Achilles tendon problem. We have to be careful about what we say, but it must be said.”

Although no official confirmation arrived as of yet, Ibrahimovic’s career has suffered a possibly devastating setback, considering he is already 38 years of age.

The former Sweden international’s contract at the San Siro is due to expire in the summer, but he was expected to prolong his stay in Lombardy should Milan secure European football for the next season.

During his illustrious career, the towering striker defended the colors of Malmo, Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Manchester United, Los Angeles Galaxy, and Milan on two occasions now.

Ibrahimovic rejoined the Rossoneri only last winter after his contract with Galaxy run out, helping the struggling giants return in contention for the top-six finish before the coronavirus pandemic gripped football in Italy.
