Insigne drops huge claim over his future amid Premier League links

Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne has dropped a hint over his future amid the Premier League transfer talks

Widely regarded as one of the best wingers in Serie A, the 27-year-old has attracted interest from several major Europe clubs, including Chelsea and Liverpool.

The Partenopei consider their star forward unsellable, which they’ve shown by turning down a £61million bid from the Reds.

In order to keep hold of the Italy international and fend off interest from potential suitors, Gli Azzurri have slapped a staggering £131million price tag on their stalwart.

Known as a tough negotiator, Aurelio De Laurentiis will hardly step back from his stance, but Insigne’s recent statement can make things awkward for the Italian film producer.

“I am 28 years old [this year], and it could happen that I receive an offer I can’t refuse,” he said.

“I’ve proved what I am worth and there are people around who appreciate me.

“Right now, in this phase, I am not even thinking about it.

“However, I know full well that there are those around who appreciate me. But there are no clubs, no approaches, no shows of interest.”

Considering the fact, Insigne has joined Mino Raiola’s stable of clients, a potential summer transfer is very much on the table, especially judging on Raiola’s efficiency when it comes to swift sales.
