Inter Milan reportedly look to continue their Premier League recruitment spree, as they’ve now set sights on Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen
The Serie A giants have been busy bringing in players from the Premier League over the past two transfer windows, with Ashley Young, Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Victor Moses, and Christian Eriksen all arriving from England’s top-tier during Antonio Conte’s tenure.
Indeed, the Nerazzurri sealed Eriksen’s cut-price move from Tottenham last month, after the Danish midfielder refused to extend his contract with Spurs.
According to the Evening Standard, Conte is now eager to reunite the Dane with his former Tottenham teammate, Jan Vertonghen, who is also reluctant to remain in London.
Vertonghen’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season, and unlike his defensive partner, Toby Alderweireld, who has recently pledged his future to the club, the 32-year-old has been adamant he won’t stay at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Belgium international has found himself on the fringes of the Spurs squad following Jose Mourinho’s takeover, as the Portuguese boss prefers Davinson Sanchez to pair Alderweireld at the back.
With Japhet Tanganga also breaking into Mourinho’s starting XI in the recent period, the ex-Ajax defender has seen his first-team opportunities quite limited.
If Inter end up losing the in-demand Milan Skriniar to Manchester City in the summer, they are likely to focus their attention towards Vertonghen, who could be following in the footsteps of Eriksen at the end of the season.
