Jose Mourinho pushing Man Utd to sign Juventus defender

According to the famous Italian newspaper, Calciomercato, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has set his sights on Juventus full-back Alex Sandro.

The Portuguese manager has allegedly asked the board to bring the Brazilian defender at the Old Trafford as early as January. However, given the fact, Luke Shaw has been performing at the highest level this season, this move doesn’t make much sense.

Nonetheless, it seems Mourinho is determined to land his long-time target and is ready to allocate a substantial figure to make the transfer feasible.

The Red Devils have had immense defensive problems this year, having already conceded 18 goals in 11 Premier League matches so far.

On the other hand, Massimilano Allegri considers the 27-year-old left-back an indispensable first-team member and would hardly renounce his services this winter.

Alex Sandro joined Juventus from Porto for a reported fee of €26 million back in 2015 and has established himself as one of the best left-backs in Europe ever since.
