Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has been told to sell star striker Harry Kane to raise funds for a summer spending campaign, reports in England say.
Kane has been the cornerstone of Mauricio Pochettino’s successful era in London, helping Spurs become a regular Premier League top-four member.
But, Tottenham’s lack of ability to compete for trophies has made the 26-year-old Englishman doubt his future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Tottenham’s all-time top goalscorer has attracted interest from Manchester United and Manchester City ahead of the summer transfer window.
Although the Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has so far been adamant he is not willing to sell his best player, Kane continues to be linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Also, Mourinho is understood to be keen to reshape his squad that has struggled to impress this season and is likely to miss out on the Champions League qualification.
Since Tottenham believe they can command £200million for their most prized asset, former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has urged Levy to consider offloading Kane if such an offer comes in for the prolific striker.
“He’s going to break up this squad,” Jordan told talkSPORT, as relayed by the Daily Express.

“This squad that was a Christmas gift at the start when he took over last year, I get the impression now it’s one he doesn’t like. He’s going to change it.
“I think there’s going to be big changes at Tottenham. Daniel Levy won’t fund big acquisitions.
“So that leads to, how do you fund it? Mourinho is sounding the bell for changing this team.
“He’s questioning their motivation, questioning their ability.
“Every club goes through this period of transition, and maybe Kane will be the sacrificial lamb financially to be able to reboot Tottenham.
“If somebody comes in with £200m for Harry Kane, when it’s a period of recession, it will be compelling.”
Despite enduring an injury-riddled season, Kane has still racked up 19 goals and two assists in 29 appearances in all competitions.
