Kai Havertz insists he keeps his future in firm control

Bayer Leverkusen prodigy Kai Havertz insists he will have the final say on his future amid rumors about interest from La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid and Barcelona

Despite his young age, the 20-year-old has already established himself as an indispensable first-team player at the BayArena, racking up 26 goals and 20 assists in 95 Bundesliga outings so far.

According to the recent reports from Spain, Barcelona and Real Madrid are ready to firm up their interest in the left-footed attacking midfielder, who continues to impress, even on the international scene.

Leverkusen wonderkid got on the scoresheet for Germany in a 2-2 draw with Argentina this week, making a breakthrough in his sixth appearance for the senior national team.

Heavily linked with a move to some of Europe’s top clubs, the player has hit feet on the ground, as he admitted that he will listen to Joachim Low’s advice, insisting he will make the final choice on his future nonetheless.

“I listen to many people, but in the end, it will be my decision,” Havertz told the media, as reported by Daily Mail.

“I will embrace any advice Low will give me because he has a lot of experience – it wouldn’t be smart to not listen to him.”

Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller credited fierce Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich with interest in Havertz back in August when the youngster already made it clear he will stay at the club this season.

There’s no doubt that ‘Die Werkself’ will be looking to maximize their profit when they decide to sell Havertz, and with these Europe’s big guns in the race for his signature, they must be rubbing their hands at the moment.
