Klopp hails Everton ahead of Merseyside Derby

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has hailed Everton’s summer business in the build-up to the highly-anticipated Merseyside Derby

Saturday’s Premier League action gets underway in the noon kick-off as Liverpool and Everton lock horns at Goodison Park in a massive showdown.

Reigning champions will be eager to bounce back from a humiliating 7-2 away loss to Aston Villa last time out.

But, standing in their way is a high-flying Everton side they’ve failed to score against in three consecutive top-flight H2Hs held at this venue (D3).

Additionally, Carlo Ancelotti seems to have managed to establish coherence and consistency the Toffees have lacked over the past few years.

Indeed, Dominic Calver-Lewin and Co have got off to a flying Premier League start, winning all of their opening four league fixtures.

As things stand, Everton won’t be given a better chance to beat arch-rivals at home for the first time since 2010.

Jurgen Klopp shares that opinion as he points out their rivals’ perfect summer business. Ancelotti secured the services of Allan, James Rodriguez, and Abdoulaye Doucoure during the transfer window.

“Top team, top manager. What I think about Carlo Ancelotti was never a secret,” Klopp said, as relayed by the Football365.

“I couldn’t respect him more as a person and as a coach. He’s a wonderful human being, to be honest.

“I knew from the first day when I heard that he will sign for Everton, I thought, ‘Ah, the next proper challenger in line.’

“Now I think they did perfect business in the summer. They found pretty much exactly the players they needed to improve an already pretty good football team.

“Together with being more used to what Carlo wants them to do makes them a pretty strong team.

“I’m really not surprised about the way they play.”
