Frank Lampard has revealed that Chelsea will look to reinforce their squad in the summer transfer window, reports in England confirm
Chelsea opted against making new signings during the January transfer window, but they will be eager to add a few valuable pieces to their roster when the transfer window reopens for business in the summer.
The Premier League giants have already secured the services of the Ajax wizard Hakim Ziyech, who is expected to replace the outgoing Brazilian winger Willian.
Willan’s contract runs out at the end of the season, and since he has refused to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge, the 31-year-old will leave Chelsea after seven years.
Pedro should follow in the footsteps of his attacking colleague and find a new club as his contract in west London expires in the summer, too.
Chelsea have been linked with the likes of the Barcelona loanee Philippe Coutinho and Borussia Dortmund sought-after starlet Jadon Sancho, as well as, the Bayer Leverkusen wonder playmaker Kai Havertz.
Lampard has now admitted that the club will try to bolster the squad, insisting he is satisfied with the players he currently has at his disposal.
“I’m certainly excited about the squad we’ve got, with the young players and if we can get a few additions for areas I feel we need,” Lampard said, as reported by the Daily Star.
“We didn’t bring in anyone in January, it didn’t work out to be right for us at the time, and last summer we couldn’t bring anyone in, so those windows are gone, and we haven’t changed.
“So I am excited about the squad we’ve got, if we can freshen up in the right areas we all know that.”
