Shock claims from Spain suggest that Barcelona stalwart Lionel Messi made great efforts to convince Neymar to come back to the Camp Nou in the summer
The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a return to Catalonia in ahead of the 2019/20 campaign after informing Paris Saint-Germain of his intention to leave Ligue 1.
But, the deal has fallen through, and the Blaugrana will have to wait until the end of the season to make a new attempt to lure him back to La Liga.
As reported by the Spanish outlet, Marca, Messi has played his part in convincing Neymar to reunite with his former teammates at Barcelona.

“We can only win the Champions League together,” the Argentinean wizard reportedly told the 27-year-old Brazil international.
“In two years, I’ll leave, and you’ll take my place.”
Neymar was part of the Catalans’ all-star attacking trio, called MSN, alongside Messi and Luis Suarez, and he seems to be lining up a reunion in the foreseeable future.
During his four-year stint at Barcelona, the Brazilian superstar racked up 105 goals and 76 assists, helping the club win two domestic titles and the Champions League trophy.
