Liverpool are reportedly hopeful of landing another Bayern Munich star after landing Thiago Alcantara in the summer
Jurgen Klopp is on the lookout for a new defensive option after Virgil van Dijk sustained a possibly season-ending ACL injury.
With the Dutch centre-back out of the picture for the remainder of the season, the German manager is exploring various alternatives in the market.
According to English news outlet TEAMtalk, Liverpool have set their sights on the Bayern Munich utility man David Alaba.

Alaba’s contract at the Allianz Arena will run out at the end of the season.
The Austrian will be free to join another team on a free transfer at that point but will also be able to discuss personal terms with foreign clubs in January.
During his 10-year spell in the Bundesliga, the versatile defender has established himself as one of the most highly-rated players in Europe.
Alaba also came close to leaving Bayern in the summer, but the Bavarians were hell-bent on keeping the 28-year-old for at least one more year.
However, various reports now say Hansi Flick has already reconciled with losing the left-footed defender.

After Manchester City and Barcelona, Liverpool are now considered the leading candidates to sign Alaba.
The reigning Premier League title-holders believe Thiago Alcantara could be the catalyst to convince his former teammate to join him at Anfield.
The Reds have maintained a good relationship with Bayern Munich despite clutching the Spanish midfielder away from the Germans’ hands in the summer.
And Liverpool now hope to use Alcantara’s influence to outfox stiff competition for Alaba’s services.
