Manchester United are reportedly prepared to match David De Gea’s wage demands to keep hold of him amid Paris Saint-Germain links
The Spaniard’s current contract with the Premier League outfit runs out in summer 2020, and the parties have yet to find an agreement over a contract extension.
So far, De Gea’s staggering wage demands of £350,000 a week have been a stumbling box in negotiations, as the Red Devils refused to make him the club’s joint-highest earner.
However, with Paris Saint-Germain’s interest on the cards, Ed Woodward had no other option but to meet his first-choice goalkeeper’s demands.
As reported by the British outlet, Daily Mail, the parties have come one step away from agreement after Woodward reportedly accepted De Gea’s terms.
If everything goes smoothly, Manchester United will tie the 28-year-old down with a new five-year deal, which will undoubtedly fend off interest from PSG and Real Madrid.
