Manchester United’s immense defensive problems have forced the recruitment team to start looking for reinforcements
The Red Devils’ bigwigs intend to solve the team’s defensive crisis in the upcoming transfer window, as Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, and Chris Smalling all failed to prove they are Manchester United material.
According to the British publication, Caught Offside, the Premier League giants have set sights on the highly-rated RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano.
Manchester United are set to join Bayern Munich in the race to sign RB Leipzig player Dayot Upamecano. The 20-year-old has a massive €100 million release clause installed in his current contract, which means Man Utd will have to break Liverpool’s world-record transfer fee of £75m for Virgil van Dijk.
Furthermore, the 3-time Champions League winners will also have to beat the competition of Bayern Munich, who have already shown interest in capturing one of the brightest talents in Europe.
Established as one of the best young defenders in the German top tier, the former Red Bull Salzburg hotshot has made 20 top-flight appearances for RB Leipzig this season.
