Manchester United and Chelsea handed big boost in pursuit of Philippe Coutinho

Out-of-favor Barcelona forward Philippe Coutinho has reportedly informed the club of his desire to depart the Camp Nou this summer

The Catalans’ most expensive signing at the time, Coutinho has struggled to impress in La Liga ever since his blockbuster €120m move from Liverpool in January 2017.

Although the Brazilian collected 54 top-flight outings for the Blaugrana this last term, he has never managed to convince Barcelona chiefs in his capabilities.

Heavily linked with a return to the Premier League, the 26-year-old may embrace the prospect of returning to the league where he has spent the best time of his career.

But, well aware of the fact that only a few teams can afford his €110m price tag, the ex-Inter Milan star fears Barca’s demand may price him out of summer switch to the English top-tier competition.

Manchester United hold a long-standing admiration for Coutinho, with Chelsea’s interest seems to be on the cards too, especially following Eden Hazard’s departure.
