Manchester United have overtaken Chelsea and Manchester City in the race for the Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell, reports in England say
Chilwell learned his trade at the King Power Stadium and has gone on to collect over 120 appearances for Leicester and become one of the most highly-rated left-backs in England’s top-flight.
He has been indispensable for the Foxes this season, too, registering three goals and three assists in 27 Premier League starts under Brendan Rodgers.
The 23-year-old has earned high acclaim for his consistency over the past few years, with several Premier League sides, including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Manchester City, credited with an interest in the pacey defender.
Chelsea hold a long-standing interest in Chilwell, as Frank Lampard identified his compatriot as one of his prime objectives for the upcoming transfer window.
Pep Guardiola is also a long-term admirer of English left-back and sees him as an upgrade to Benjamin Mendy, who has endured an injury-riddled career at the Etihad.

However, as reported by the talkSPORT, Manchester United have leapfrogged both Chelsea and City in the race for Chilwell.
The Red Devils have reportedly prepared a £60million offer to test Leicester’s resolve and outplay stiff competition for the Englishman’s signature.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful to be granted the opportunity to reinforce his backline in the summer, and Chilwell’s name features the Norwegian’s wish-list close to the top.
Luke Shaw has overseen an upturn in form this season, but his proneness to injuries requires Solskjaer to add a new left-back to his team.
Manchester United have returned in contention for a top-four finish after putting together four consecutive Premier League triumphs, reducing the gap on fourth-placed Leicester to a single point.
