The in-demand Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt has agreed personal terms with Juventus, according to his agent Mino Raiola
Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona have both been tracking the 19-year-old for quite a while, but the Bianconeri seem to be on the verge of beating the competition to the youngster’s signature.
But, De Ligt favors a move to Juventus, probably because of the lure of playing alongside the likes of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci.
As confirmed by the player’s agent Mino Raiola, the Lancers mainstay has found an agreement with the Italian heavyweights.
“De Ligt has agreed terms with Juventus, and now it’s up to Ajax on how they deal with this situation,” Raiola told De Telegraaf.
Confirmed! Mino Raiola has just announced the total agreement between Juventus and de Ligt: “Matthijs has agreed personal terms with Juve. We’re waiting for them to complete the agreement with Ajax soon”, he just said to Telegraaf. ⚪️⚫️ #deLigt #Juve #transfers— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) July 7, 2019
The most talented defender in Europe has reportedly agreed on a five-year contract with the reigning Serie A holders, and he intends to honor his word
Although the Parisians and the Blaugrana are both reluctant to give up on their pursuit of the Dutch defender as of yet, Raiola has excluded a possibility of De Ligt having a change of heart.
“That’s out of the question and so is arbitration, as it is not his style,” he said.
However, the Turin-based outfit will now have to convince the Lancers to sell their standout performer on their terms after seeing their previous attempt rebuffed by the Dutch champions.
Juventus approached Ajax with a £58.3m bid for the centre-back last week, but the offer was quickly sent back to Italy after being deemed too low.
