On the eve of the international break, Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has singled out one team as his favorite to win the Champions League
The Argentinean manager has helped the Spurs to advance to the Champions League quarter-finals, where they are going to take on bitter Premier League rivals Manchester City.
The Lilywhites are one of four Premier League outfits to break into the last eight, along with Manchester United, Liverpool, and the aforementioned City.
Asked about his opinion about the potential winners of this massive contest, the 47-year-old has pointed out that La Liga giants, Barcelona, have the biggest chance to wrap up the title.
According to the former Espanyol player, the Catalans have one leverage on all other contenders as they have Lionel Messi on their books.
Tottenham faced the Blaugrana in the group stage, and Pochettino had a chance to witness Messi’s brilliance from close range.
“Barcelona are the favorite to win the Champions League,” he told Mundo Deportivo.
“Barca have excellent players, extraordinary players and then have a genius.
“It’s different, he does things that nobody expects and continues to surprise.
“What surprises me is his regularity, his consistency. He does it in every game, every three or four days, during the last 11 or 12 years, which he leads in the first team.”
Barcelona will go head-to-head with Manchester United in their last-eight tie.
