Real Madrid ace Luka Modric believes that Kylian Mbappe has to leave Paris Saint-Germain and Ligue 1 and join a more competitive league to showcase his full potential
Ever since bursting into the big scene as a teenager at Monaco in 2015, it’s been clear that Mbappe is a generational talent with the potential to become one of the greatest football players of all time.
Blessed with devastating speed and acceleration and gifted with a ‘killer instinct’ in front of the goal, the 21-year-old forward has conquered Ligue 1 four times already.
With one World Cup title already under his belt accompanied by 130 goals scored for the club and country, the French star is widely regarded as a future Ballon d’Or winner.
Real Madrid and Liverpool have both shown an ambition to sign Mbappe in the upcoming transfer window, although PSG already made it clear they will do everything in their power to keep hold of their headline performer.
Zinedine Zidane is keen to bring his compatriot to the Santiago Bernabeu, and the lure of playing under the French legend’s tutelage may be too tempting to resist for Mbappe if the opportunity presents itself.

Luka Modric has now poured gasoline on the fire, inviting the France international to consider joining a more competitive league.
During an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, as relayed by beIN SPORTS, Modric has urged the lightning-quick French forward to consider leaving PSG.
“Mbappe has everything to dominate the scene, but I think that to make the leap in quality he needs to go to a championship in which his team does not win so easily,” the Croatian midfielder said.
“I also see great potential in Vinicius Jr, and I like [Kevin] De Bruyne and [Raheem] Sterling.”
Real Madrid picked up a comfortable 3-1 home triumph over Eibar last weekend in their first La Liga game in the post-pandemic period, as they remain within touching distance with arch-rivals Barcelona.
With just two points separating the sides and ten rounds of fixtures left on the 2019/20 La Liga schedule, Los Blancos are still eligible candidates to wrap up the title.
