Manchester United star Nemanja Matic has given his verdict over the future of the wantaway midfielder Paul Pogba
The Frenchman’s future at Old Trafford has been hanging in the air ever since the beginning of the summer transfer window, with Real Madrid and Juventus showing appreciations for his services.
Also, the 26-year-old World Cup winner has admitted that he would like to try something new away from the Theatre of Dreams, fueling speculations about his potential departure.
However, Pogba’s fellow teammate, Nemanja Matic, believes that the former Juventus man will eventually remain in the club, although he has refused to rule out a possible break-up.
“Of course, he’s a great player and very important for the team,” the Serbian said.
“We will see what is going to happen. He is a Manchester United player and of course we will be happy if he stays.
“I don’t see that he’s going to leave, but in football everything is possible.”
Although Los Blancos seemed to be the closest to Pogba’s signature, they may have narrowed down space for a new midfielder after acquiring the Ajax prodigy Donny Van de Beek.
Some reports have suggested that Florentino Perez intends to raise funds for the highly-rated playmaker by offloading some of the Real outcasts.
But, the transfer session is approaching its end, and Pogba’s arrival at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu seems highly improbable without a major development in the next couple weeks.
