Out-of-favor Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar has made a joke about his troubled relationship with the club’s fans
Former Barcelona forward was desperate to return to the Camp Nou this summer and was piling the pressure on the Parisians hierarchy to let him leave the French capital.
Ever since the negotiations between the clubs broke down, Neymar has found himself at the mercy of PSG’s supporters, who have so far taken every opportunity to insult him in every possible way.
After skipping the opening stage of the season due to injury, the Brazilian has returned to action with a bang, showing why many regard him as one of the best players on the planet.
The 27-year-old was a decisive figure in three of four PSG’s Ligue 1 matches upon his comeback, helping his team collect nine points across those fixtures.
However, it’s still deemed insufficient by the irritated PSG fans, who are yet to forgive him for his continuous efforts to force his way out of the Parc des Princes during the summer.
Neymar, on the other hand, believes that he will eventually work things out with the club’s supporters, insisting he will continue to give his best on the field.
“It is like with women,” he told reporters, according to the Mirror. “Sometimes you argue and spend some time without talking.
“However, with love & affection, you go back to normal. I am here to help PSG, and I will give my life on the pitch.”
A 70th-minute winner against Bordeaux on Saturday was his third decisive goal in the last four league outings, with the previous two including a stunning overhead kick in the stoppage time against Strasbourg and a left-footed finish against Lyon on the road.
