Neymar’s birthday party infuriated Thomas Tuchel

Neymar’s decision to host his birthday party less than three days ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 clash against Nantes has infuriated Thomas Tuchel

Although he failed to find the back of the net against Montpellier, Neymar massively contributed to PSG’s 5-0 dismantling of La Paillade at the Parc des Princes on Saturday.

The Brazilian also received a yellow card for arguing with the referee Jerome Brisard after the latter decided against awarding a free-kick in Neymar’s favor.

But, the yellow card has not made Tuchel so angry as the fact his headline performer has decided to host his birthday party ahead of PSG’s trip to Nantes.

“I prefer to talk about certain things inside the group when it’s a little bit critical,” said Tuchel, as reported by the Daily Express.

“It can give the image that we are not professionals.

“But I don’t think everything is all white or all black.

“I know people like to talk this way, and that’s a bit of a shame.

“That’s also why I don’t want to talk about it too much, but yes, it’s a distraction.”

The incident has fueled speculations surrounding Neymar’s return to Barcelona, who tried to take him back to the Camp Nou last summer but failed to broker the move.

However, the Catalans are understood to be eager to step up their pursuit of the 27-year-old forward in the upcoming transfer window.

In addition to Neymar, Tuchel now also has to worry about Kylian Mbappe’s situation at the club after the two were spotted arguing on the touchline during the Montpellier clash.

Tuchel’s decision to withdraw the young Frenchman 20 minutes before the final whistle was not taken well by the 21-year-old, who obviously had a few words to say to his boss.

Mbappe has also been linked with a move to Barcelona, but Real Madrid are leading the race for his signature after showing huge ambition to lure him to the Santiago Bernabeu ahead of the 2019/20 season.
