Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly joined Real Madrid in the race for the outgoing Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen
The 27-year-old will not be on the Spurs’ pay list next season, as he waits for his contract to run out next summer.
What’s more, Eriksen will be able to choose his next destination already in January, although his options are limited to the clubs outside the Premier League.
Real Madrid hold a long-standing interest in the highly-rated playmaker and are said to be in the driver’s seat before PSG joined the hunt.
As reported by the Daily Mail, the Parisians are looking to hijack Los Blancos move for the Denmark international, as Thomas Tuchel hopes to bolster his midfield options.
But, the reigning Ligue 1 holders will have to offload some of their midfielders to make the room for Eriksen, with Julian Draxler and Leandro Paredes given the most chances to depart Parc des Princes.
While Spurs hope to ship out their wantaway star in January to prevent him from leaving without a compensation fee at the end of the season, the ex-Ajax man is waiting for the summer to secure the best personal terms.
There’s no doubt, however, that PSG’s involvement in the race will make things difficult for La Liga heavyweights, who are also keeping tabs on Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.
